Innovative fundraising supported by the ceramic community

Through the generosity of potters and ceramic artists, FiredUp4 raises funds by hosting live auctions and, in 2024, its first ceramic show.

Secret Ceramics

In May 2024 London Craft Week presented Secret Ceramics a new fundraising initiative that showcased more than 100 single-stem vessels created by leading artists and emerging talent. As the name suggests, contributors to the exhibition remained anonymous until after the piece is sold.

Works were sold at a fixed price of £300, with buyers encouraged to make an additional voluntary donation. Established artists such as Kate Malone, Hitomi Hisono, Aneta Regel, Frances Priest, Lucille Lewin and Luke Fuller joined newcomers and cultural influencers such as Zandra Rhodes, Kit Kemp and Nina Campbell (with the gracious assistance of Gregory Tingay at Studio Pottery London) creating new works for the sale.

November 2023

Auction #3

Funding for ceramic equipment to be installed in Youth Zones in Manchester, Croydon and Blackburn with Darwen was made possible by the huge generosity of more than 80 of the UK’s leading ceramic artists, their donated lots and our delightful hosts in the Adam Partridge Auctioneers Cheshire salesroom. Adam let Johnny Vegas raise the hammer on a couple of star lots!

Total raised: £150,000

May 2022

Auction #2

Maak London kindly hosted the second FiredUp4 auction online with over fifty ceramic works donated by the artist who made them. The funds raised provided equipment and staff for Youth Zones in Warrington, Barking and Dagenham and Barnet.

Total raised: £150,000

November 2020

In November 2020, the inaugural FiredUp4 auction took place hosted by Maak London. We will forever remain so grateful to the original 33 ceramic artists that donated their work for the first studios to be installed in Youth Zones in Chorley and Wigan.
