Designed in virtual reality through symmetrical drawing, this sculptural form is translated into porcelain using a contemporary technique known as digital coiling, in which fine coils of porcelain are layered to construct the form. By merging traditional ceramic practice with emerging technologies, Barrett expands the possibilities of the medium.

“The intention of this piece is to create a feeling of being in a meadow of flowers. The glaze is unusual – a combination of two firings that I’ve not since been able to recreate. The essence of optimism made me feel it appropriate for my 2023 FiredUp4 donation.”
